Ideal for skiers, snowboarders, and backcountry campers, the Cloudveil men's Koven Plus shell jacket is comfortable and weather adaptable. The Koven Plus shell--and reigning Outside Gear of the Year champ--is made of Stretch EV3 fabric, a high-tech, high-denier material that seals out precipitation, with an even stretchier Schoeller C-Change fabric located in the shoulders, elbows, and sides. The Schoeller fabric helps the jacket instantly respond to microclimate change, becoming more breathable when ambient air warms and sealing in heat when the core temperature drops. The jacket also features internal bio-mapping that keeps the spine warmer, the shoulders drier, and the pits vented. And thanks to the stretch skirt, pit zips, and helmet-friendly hood, the jacket is well equipped for alpine use.

The Koven Plus jacket's temperature-regulating features make it a great choice for ski, snowboard, or backcountry use.

About Koven Plus Fabrics
Cloudburst Stretch EV3 is a high-denier, high-tech fabric offering maximum comfort through extreme breathability. The fabric is configured with a Dermizax-EV nonporous membrane, which provides exceptionally high resistance to water pressure and protects against the heaviest precipitation. The fabric's two-way mechanical stretch also enhances freedom of movement and maintains a soft and supple feel. In addition, Stretch EV3 features Kudos XR, a super-durable water-repellent coating that's rated 100+ wash. Kudos XR provides both oil repellency and abrasion resistance.

Schoeller C-Change is a stretch-woven, dynamic-face fabric with a polyurethane membrane that combines weatherproofing from the outside, climate comfort from the inside, and unrestricted freedom of movement. Extremely water- and wind-resistant, the fabric is also air permeable for breathability, and includes an innovative WB formula that provides a durable moisture-regulating barrier to heat loss. Schoeller's C-Change fabric adapts to your activity and to changing climates, ensuring an optimum body temperature at all times.

About Cloudveil
Cloudveil took shape in the minds of Stephen Sullivan and Brian Cousins sometime during the winter of 1994, as the pair worked as outdoor retail store managers/buyers at Skinny Skis in Jackson, Wyoming. After working, skiing, and climbing together for two years, they came to realize that they had more in common than just a shared passion for alpine pursuits. Both shared a profound belief that there was room in the mountain apparel market for a focused, performance-oriented product offering that would dare to think "outside the box" when it came to functional design, fabrication, and innovation. Living in the alpine, climbing, and backcountry skiing playground of Jackson Hole, they decided that there was no better place to base the business. Research and development existed right out the back door, and with the advent of modern technology, where was no need to pack up and move.

The duo officially launched Cloudveil in the fall of 1997, introducing eight products at their first Outdoor Retailer show in Salt Lake City, including the now signature Serendipity jacket. In fact, most of the original products are still in the collection today. Cloudveil has since grown dramatically and now spans a wide variety of product types, including fall/winter and spring/summer apparel for men, women, and children. Cousins and Sullivan's discovery and extensive use of Schoeller stretch-woven fabrics from Switzerland help usher in a new era of outdoor clothing--the soft shell--for the true mountain athlete. Cloudveil announced a complete line of fly fishing apparel and accessories in 2006, with more than 140 fly-fishing specialty retailers carrying the line. Cloudveil apparel is now sold in more than 450 outdoor specialty stores in the U.S., as well as specialty accounts in Japan, Taiwan, Canada, and Australia. Cloudveil also sells direct to a growing customer base through its catalogs, website, and retail store. Our premium shell — and Outside Gear of the Year alum — utilizes ultrasonic stitch-free construction, engineered biometrics and high-performance materials. Cloudburst Stretch™ fabric seals out precip, while even stretchier schoeller® c-change™ in the shoulders, elbows and sides changes form to become more breathable as body temps rise. Internal bio-mapping keeps the spine warmer, the shoulders drier and the pits vented, while a stretch skirt, pit zips and a helmet-friendly hood equip it for any alpine use.
